"I'd also like to say to all those involved in this case, you have my commitment that our office is undertaking a thorough and fair investigation," he said."This is also a commitment, I'm making to the Louisville community, which has suffered tremendously in the day since March 13."
Mayor Greg Fischer, at a news briefing Thursday, urged Cameron to"keep us apprised of next steps" to avoid the spread of rumors. Cameron's office could have chosen to appoint a prosecutor from another jurisdiction, but has instead opted to handle the case itself.
