Saoirse Kennedy Hill will be laid to rest on Monday at a funeral Mass in Cape Cod following the 22-year-old's death on Thursday.
Saoirse Kennedy Hill, the 22-year-old granddaughter of the late Robert F. Kennedy, was honored at a funeral Mass Monday at a private family service in Cape Cod.
District Attorney Michael O’Keefe for Massachusetts' Cape & Islands District confirmed her death in a statement to USA TODAY, saying police responded at 3 p.m. on Thursday to a call about"an unresponsive female, later identified as Saoirse Kennedy Hill." The Kennedy family also confirmed her death in a statement to the Associated Press, saying,"Our hearts are shattered by the loss of our beloved Saoirse."
He spoke about how Hill bravely shared her mental health struggles in her high school newspaper three years ago, and praised her for" the door for her peers to also come out and not feel shamed by this illness."
