The Canadian Hockey League (CHL) has chosen the Kelown Rockets as the host for the 2026 Memorial Cup, following a competitive bidding process against four other teams. The Rockets' bid stood out among the five finalists, based on criteria including business operations, local atmosphere, event logistics, and hockey operations.

In a press release on Wednesday, Nov. 27, the Canadian Hockey League announced the Rockets will be hosting the event, beating out four other teams who bid for the event - Medicine Hat Tigers, Spokane Chiefs, Brandon Wheat Kings, and Lethbridge Hurricanes.

The CHL's committee that made the decision included Graeme Roustan , Colin Campbell , Aaron Fox , Kalli Quinn , and Paul Graham . The Rockets hosted and won the Memorial Cup once before, in 2004, with a team led by now-current West Kelowna Warriors assistant coach Josh Gorges.
