Tyreik McAllister appeared to give the Ticats more life with a 57-yard punt return, but it came back due to a holding penalty. So instead of starting from the Toronto 35-yard line, Hamilton was at its own 10. Hamilton suffered its first loss in three games. The Ticats also fell to third in the East Division, two points behind the Montreal Alouettes , who defeated the Calgary Stampeders 28-11 earlier Saturday.
Kelly completed 13-of-18 passes for 218 yards with a TD and interception. Powell was eight-of-14 passing for 82 yards and an interception.
