Keefe defeated Natalie Vecchio from Ontario in the match after beating Angel Besskkaystare from Saskatchewan in the semifinal. "It feels very good. That's, like, six years of hard work paid off,'' Keefe told SaltWire Network in a telephone interview following the match.This isn’t the first gold medal for the Keefe family at the Canada Games.Vanessa’s sister, Veronica, managed the feat on home soil during the 2009 Canada Games."I'm really happy and proud of myself,'' Hetherington said, adding he battled a foot injury this week.
