Ke Huy Quan, winner of the Oscar for best supporting actor for "Everything Everywhere All at Once," at the Vanity Fair Oscars party in Los Angeles on Sunday. After his big win at the Oscars on Sunday, Ke Huy Quan of “Everything Everywhere All at Once” looked back on his early days as a refugee fleeing Vietnam — a journey that would ultimately put him on a path toward Hollywood history.
Quan, who’s only the second Asian to win in his Oscar category, explained that his family stayed in the refugee camp for a year before attaining political asylum and making their way to the U.S. “I grew up in a family where we just don’t share our emotions with each other,” he said. “Last night, I wanted to do that publicly. I wanted the world to know how much my parents meant to me. To do that on the biggest stage — that felt amazing.”
