The Katy African American Heritage Society and city of Katy on Monday hosted the city’s first-ever Juneteenth parade and festival in Woodsland Park.

“Juneteenth is a celebration,” Robinson said. “It’s not to get angry or hold onto the dark parts of American history. It’s to come together as an entire community and grow together.”
