RIP Kitty Purry 😿💔
The singer-songwriter shared the sad news with fans on Instagram early on Sunday, April 19, posting a series of throwback photos of herself holding the fluffy, striped cat. “Kitty Purry crawled through my then-boyfriend’s window 15 years ago, fully pregnant and seeking shelter,” Katy wrote alongside the pictures. “Two litters and many moons later, this street cat became a lovable mascot to many.”
She went on to say that Kitty “completed her 9th life” the previous night, ending her message with a heartfelt wish for her late feline friend. “I hope she rests in salmon fillets and tuna tartare way up in catnip heaven. Kitty, thanks for the cuddles and companionship along the way,” she wrote, adding the hashtag: #KittyPurryForever.
Katy’s fans were quick to respond to the post, ready to send the singer some much-needed love and support. “This makes me so sad,” one person wrote, with another commenting: “I’m so sorry to hear that, RIP Kitty Purry.” Kitty Purry had become something of a legend for Katy’s fans, as the cat has been around for the duration of the singer’s career and rise to fame. Katy even namedafter her furry friend , and the cat has made plenty of appearances on the singer-songwriter’s social media pages.
Losing a pet is never easy, especially one that has been a part of your life for so many years, and essentially has become a part of your family. Our thoughts are with Katy during this sad time — RIP Kitty Purry, we'll never forget you.
