LIVE: Chief of Staff KatieTelford begins her testimony on Chinese interference and what JustinTrudeau knew
Katie Telford, chief of staff to Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, on March 8.On Friday, ahead of Telford’s appearance at committee, the Prime Minister’s national security and intelligence advisor Jody Thomas provided – as promised during her own testimony in March – a list of the dates of formal briefings and meetings on foreign interference to Trudeau, members of his staff, his ministers and to security-cleared representatives of political parties.
“They can occur on the margins of other briefings, during foreign and domestic travel, and on an urgent basis to meet the Prime Minister’s needs for information and advice to enable responses to address threats to national security,” she wrote in a briefing issued Trudeau’s staff also received formal briefings from both these individuals two times in the past months, but may have also attended briefings with Trudeau as well.
