Exclusive: katedavismusic performs OpenHeart surgery on an ex in stunning new song
Written about performing surgery on an ex-boyfriend -- which might make some people apprehensive -- it is nonetheless a very calming song. Davis' voice soothes as she creates a romantic atmosphere with simply beautiful melodies, raw guitars and drums.
"Deep breath, oh we're taking your temperature now/ Hold tight, oh we're taking an X-ray now," she sings."'Open Heart' was written after I dreamt of playing a real life version of the game 'Operation' on an ex-boyfriend," Davis tells "Instead of buzzing if the sides were touched, my patient would just wake up from a real human surgery. It’s a tough love song and an ode to the almost incurable pain we experience when we get dumped.
