Community members from Kashechewan First Nation, evacuated two weeks ago due to water contamination issues, are adjusting to their temporary stay in Thunder Bay. While the evacuation has brought challenges, including missing the holidays at home, community liaisons and volunteers are working to keep spirits high by organizing activities and providing support. Efforts are underway to repair the water treatment plant, but the process is expected to take several weeks, leaving the duration of the evacuation uncertain.
