Harrison Butker, a Catholic, appeared at the White House with the Kansas City Chiefs after the team won the 2024 Super Bowl.
Butker’s visit to the White House was made last June after the Chiefs won the 2024 Super Bowl, during which he wore a tietranslating to “protect the most vulnerable.
The Chiefs player was also asked what he thought needs to be done to create a culture that respects unborn life, to which Butker said would be for the anti-abortion community to talk more about miscarriages. Butker and his wife have experienced three miscarriages in theirand noted how talking about the topic shows that they do want to have more children and be supportive of life.
“And even though there is a miscarriage, there is a potential opportunity to bury that child, and I think that shows reverence that this is a human life that we have lost, unfortunately,” Butker said. “Hopefully one day we’ll be able to be with them for eternity in heaven, but it’s also consoling to think that God is more upset and sad at losing that child than we could ever be, and that was very comforting for me to think about that.
