KCON has completed the live broadcast of KCON:TACT 2020 Summer to replace the longstanding K-pop festival that has been on hiatus due to coronavirus concerns. Instead, acts like Monsta X, ATEEZ, LOONA, (G)I-DLE, The Boyz, SF9 and more performed and met fans through an impressive live stream fest.
KCON:TACT 2020 Summer, the first-ever digital iteration of the annual K-pop festival KCON that has held court in Los Angeles since 2012, wrapped with an impression amount of viewers and interactions after its seven-day run.
KCON reports that more than 4.81 million viewers tuned in from 152 countries through their weeklong live stream festival. As of Monday morning, content from KCON:TACT had earned more than 15.1 million views so far. K-pop acts like Monsta X, I-DLE, ATEEZ, LOONA, AB6IX, EVERGLOW, The Boyz and SF9—who all had plans to either tour or visit overseas for tours or other activities abroad—were able to instead greet fans via these live stream performances as well as via behind-the-scenes footage backstage, member-focused fancams, and 360-degree VR peeks inside artist green rooms.
