Are you missing the snow? ❄
CLEVELAND, Ohio - Skiers are likely dismayed at the lack of snowfall in Cleveland this season compared to previous years, which is also following national trends some are labeling as a “snow drought.”
Cleveland’s first snowfall this year occurred on Oct. 18, when just over half an inch fell during the day. By this date last year, and before the storm, Cleveland only saw 6 inches of snow. By the end of the season in April, Cleveland had a total of 48.4 inches of snow. But several factors may prevent snow from falling in significant quantities in the next few weeks. This season’s average temperature is 40.8 degrees, plenty warm to melt snow on the ground or turn it into rain. This is compared to the normal average temperature of 29.8 degrees, a full 10 degrees less than what we should be experiencing.
