“I felt really good,” Trevino said after playing 5 ¹/₂ innings and going 0-for-2 in a 6-3 win over the Tigers at Steinbrenner Field. Asked if Trevino is now in the clear, Boone said, “I hope so.” Trevino is scheduled to catch again Thursday against the Cardinals.Gleyber Torres was also back in the lineup and went 1-for-3 with an RBI in his first game since returning from playing for Venezuela in the WBC.The second baseman raved about the atmosphere during the tournament as Venezuela went 4-0 in pool play before losing to Team USA in a thrilling quarterfinal.

“After the game we lost, for sure it was sad, but we were talking about how we impacted our country. Many struggles, but in those games, the country was together with us. I think that is the beautiful thing about baseball.”
