The Yankees have yet another soft-tissue injury.

Jose Trevino landed on the injured list Thursday with a left hamstring strain, as the Yankees called up catcher Ben Rortvedt from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre to take his place.

Trevino played in Wednesday’s game before being pinch-run for by Isiah Kiner-Falefa as the automatic runner in the 10th inning, which was not out of the norm.So it was not immediately clear when Trevino tweaked his hamstring. Regardless, Trevino became the third Yankee currently on the injured list with a hamstring strain, joining Giancarlo Stanton and Josh Donaldson.

Kyle Higashioka is likely to receive the bulk of the catching reps while Trevino is out — including getting the start for Thursday’s series finale against the Blue Jays — but the Yankees will likely mix in Rortvedt, who will be making his club debut. Rortvedt missed the start of this season after undergoing surgery in spring training for a shoulder aneurysm.Charles Wenzelberg / New York PostKnown more for his defense, Rortvedt was called up briefly last season when Trevino was placed on the paternity list, but did not appear in any games.
