On the remote island of St. Helena in the South Atlantic Ocean lives the world’s oldest living land animal: a Seychelles giant tortoise called Jonathan.
And during his time on the island, a thousand miles off the coast of Africa, he’s lived through both world wars, seven British monarchs and 39 American presidents. Hollins said the island may commission a stamp in his honour and even go so far as creating a national holiday in 2022 to celebrate him.
