The comedian roasted the New Jersey Democrat senator over his 'cartoonishly blatant corruption case.'
Jon Stewart has hit out at 'dumb' New Jersey Senator Robert Menendez over his corruption trial, which began on Monday at Manhattan's Federal District Court.Menendez has pleaded not guilty to 16 charges including bribery, extortion and obstruction of justice.
'I would have gotten away with it too, if it weren't for you meddling kids and your base 10 system of measurements and weights.'This is shaping up to be one of the more cartoonishly blatant corruption cases in some time,' the comedian added.Stewart then discussed reports that Menendez's defense attorneys have proposed asking potential jurors for their thoughts on people from New Jersey, and whether they believe people from the state are more likely to commit crimes.
