De Armas will portray Rooney, a ballerina-turned-assassin previously introduced in John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum, where she was portrayed by Unity Phelan. Set between Parabellum and the recently released John Wick: Chapter 4, Ballerina will also see Keanu Reeves, Ian McShane, Lance Reddick, and Anjelica Huston reprise their roles from prior films.
While speaking to Deadline following John Wick: Chapter 4's box office success, Lionsgate Motion Picture Group Chair Joe Drake addresses when audiences can expect to next return to the franchise's world on the big screen with Ballerina.
