New Flyers head coach John Tortorella immediately set the tone at training camp by putting the players through a 30-minute conditioning skate that didn't feature a single puck. “It’s going to be a demanding camp,” Wade Allison said.

John Tortorella's reputation for running demanding training camps was proved from the get-go true on Thursday. Two cycles into the Flyers’ first conditioning skate on the inaugural day of training camp, head coach John Tortorella wasn’t so sure left winger Nic Deslauriers was going to survive the 30-minute gauntlet of drills.

Upon the conclusion of practice,, catching their breath before heading back to the locker room.
