John Oliver can’t help the sinking feeling that Warner Bros. Discovery is “burning down my network for the insurance money.”

When asked if he would continue to criticize his parent company after its changing of the guard, Oliver didn’t hold back. “There is no tastier hand than the one that feeds you. There is nothing more satisfying to chomp down on,” he toldin February. “The beauty with AT&T is it’s a hand that has done many terrible things. It deserves to be bitten.”
Oliver also made it clear that he’s not looking for increased corporate oversight. “We had absolutely no contact with AT&T, and I could not encourage Discovery more to continue that,” he said. “Leave us the fuck alone.”
