Creuzot’s office said he was also on the prosecution team that obtained the death penalty for Bernard Amos, who was convicted in 1988 and executed in 1995. Creuzot also pointed to a requirement in state law that juries find a person convicted of a capital crime still poses a danger to society behind bars. In most cases, a person is compliant with rules of incarceration, he said.
