Exclusive: Producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura addresses John Cena's Transformers: Rise of the Beasts absence, and his hopes to bring him back.
Despite being a major figure in Bumblebee, John Cena is absent from Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, but producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura is hopeful for him to come back. The upcoming sequel acts as a follow-up to the Transformers soft reboot/prequel, following two new human characters getting wrapped up in the war between the Autobots, Terrorcons and the Maximals.
I can deny that [Cena's character in Bumblebee is Duke from G.I. Joe], but I could see why you'd feel that because he does have some of that energy if you would. I'd love to work with John again. He's fantastic, and hopefully, we can bring him back into the series.
