Growing up in New Hampshire, the ‘Nixon in China’ composer mimicked Bozo the Clown on the cover of an album of circus musicJohn Adams, 72, is a Grammy- and Pulitzer Prize-winning composer whose works include “Nixon in China,” “Doctor Atomic” and “On the Transmigration of Souls.” His newest piano concerto will be performed by Yuja Wang and the Los Angeles Philharmonic on March 10, and then tour world-wide. He spoke with Marc Myers.
