The film was directed by Lila Neugebauer, who makes her feature directorial debut with this film. It’s clear that Lawrence had an overwhelmingly positive experience with Neugebauer. While attending theLawrence told Postmedia that her biggest takeaway when prepping for this film was “when your gut tells you to trust somebody, i.e. Lila, trust them.”Article content
Lawrence also shared that “a script doesn’t have to be finished before you start shooting. I mean, it’s certainly easier if it is.” When it came to producing and starring in a film, Lawrence shared that “there are a lot of jobs and it’s very exhausting but it’s so fulfilling knowing that you’re a part of the entire process – the prep, the shooting and the editing and really having your hands in everything.”
But then when it comes to premiering her movie at the film festival, “as overwhelming and scary as it is, it’s just a totally different feeling than just being an actor and showing up to take pictures,” explained Lawrence.
