With clients like Bella Hadid and Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, colorist Jenna Perry is quickly becoming the blonde-whisperer for downtown New York.
Before venturing out on her own this past September, Perry honed her craft at, where she helped establish the salon’s signature just-back-from-the-beach aesthetic. “That’s where I mastered ‘thoughtful hair color,’” she says of the term she’s coined for her strategic head-to-toe approach, which sees her assess everything from a client’s skin tone to sartorial style—and has earned her a monthlong waiting list.
An hour later, I emerge finally more bright than brassy. The result is far from drastic, and yet, back at the office, it’s just enough for a discerning colleague to take note. “It looks like your hair, but,” she comments with a nod of approval. In other words, consider Perry a master of the headline-making dye job and transformative touch-up alike.
