An unknown man ran Beyoncé and Jay-Z's doorbell in the Hamptons
and to all of us, has brought news of a fountain of joy that sprung up in this fun desert. Pranks, folks. There’s a prankster afoot. Last Saturday the cops were called to the home ofThe prank is not a case of ding-dong and ditch, though that too could hack away at this Hamptons stoicism well enough. No, it turns out that the police were called because, per the man, a friend had invited him over, but did not tell him that it was Beyoncé and Jay-Z’s private home.
And just like that, a little magic alighted on the Hamptons. It’s a bit of an icebreaker, isn’t it? Finally, all these stiffs can let their hair down. Did you hear the one about the doorbell? They’re all murmuring to one another at the local watering hole over a chilled glass of Wölffer. I guess the only question remains is who is this prankster? Whose hand can we shake for giving the Hamptons its new brand of whimsy? We don’t know his or her name since it was redacted on the blotter; all we know is that it was a jokester, one who would send a pal in the middle of the night to the vacation home of American royalty.joint, sure. That guy knows how to have fun, and it seems reasonable that he’d know the address.
So if it’s not Clooney, then there’s no way of knowing who did it, unless you’re the officer on the case or the security guard on duty. Was it a Raya hookup gone hilarious? Or a local teen with a limited grasp on consequences? Was itthe prankee, a couple of boys being boys? Can’t say. Good thing the only thing that’s more fun than even a Hamptons doorbell prank is a big Hamptons mystery.
