Former Franklin County Sheriff's Deputy Jason Meade took the witness stand for four hours a second straight day Wednesday.At issue isn't whether he shot him butMeade testified for several hours in his defense Tuesday, saying that he shot Goodson "because he pointed his gun at me. I thought I was going to die."
When asked why he didn't take cover, Meade said on the stand that he had a matter of moments to make a decision.Goodson's family, while acknowledging that he was licensed to carry a weapon, claims he actually had sub sandwiches and his car keys in his hand when Meade shot him. On Wednesday, he reiterated one of the takeaways from it as justification for why he shot Goodson: "You don't have to wait to be harmed to defend yourself."
