Jarrod Hunter, previously at Cy Ridge and Magnolia, has been named Friendswood's new head softball coach.Jarrod Hunter never really planned to leave the greater Houston area, so when the opportunity arose for him to return, the decision wasn’t too difficult.
“Friendswood is a great school district, and their softball program is known throughout the state,” Hunter said. “When I became aware that this job was available, I told myself I at least had to try for it.” “He helped my family during Hurricane Harvey, and I loved him as a person and as a boss," Hunter said. “But he left and went to Rockwall Heath to become head football coach and athletic coordinator. When the opportunity arose, just being loyal to him, I said let’s go up there.”“I knew I wanted to get back to Houston,” he said. “This is where my wife is from , and we wanted our kids to go to school down here.
