Japan's new Ghibli Park features scenes from the popular animation studio's famous productions, including 'Totoro' and 'Spirited Away.' Here's a first look at what visitors to the new attraction can expect.

A new theme park dedicated to the popular animation company's productions is finally open in Aichi prefecture, less than an hour from Kyoto by train.
Visitors can find Yubaba -- a powerful witch -- and Kashira -- the green 'heads' -- from the film 'Spirited Away' in Ghibli Park's Grand Warehouse area.Since construction began in 2020 , small snippets of the park's design had been shared. "Spirited Away" is an Academy Award-winning animation about a brave girl named Chihiro and her magical adventure to save her parents and friends.According to those involved with the development of Ghibli Park, it's not your typical theme park.Instead, guests are encouraged to"take a stroll, feel the wind, and discover the wonders."
The second area now open to visitors is Hill of Youth, where guests can find the antique shop from"Whisper of the Heart," a romantic musical, and its spinoff film"The Cat Returns."The Dondoko Forest area is home to the "My Neighbor Totoro" house as well as a wooden Totoro statue.Dondoko Forest, the third region now open, is dedicated to"My Neighbor Totoro." It features the house from the animation and a Totoro-themed playground.
