'The encouragement of amateur photography is unique to Japan.'
The ticket was introduced for the benefit of amateur photographers and regular racegoers.
The 1,000 tickets made available to amateur photographers are known locally as “cameraman seats” and were introduced a decade ago to accommodate hobbyist photographers so that they don’t interrupt the regular race fans’ experience. The amateur photographer tickets sold out as soon as they were made available back in May with prices starting from $293 with a maximum of $522 . The tickets get the shooter a bib which indicates the part of the race track they are allowed to be in.
