Janelle Monae is coming to NYCPrideIsland this year!

herself Janelle Monáe would be serving as the evening's main headliner, with support from other acts including Betty Who, Pussy Riot, Luisa Sonza, and DJ duo Coco and Breezy. “Pride means so much to so many of us, and to have the opportunity to share my live performance during Pride has always been a dream,” Monáe said in a statement released with the news. “Celebrating Pride in NYC is a rite of passage for a queer person. I am grateful for the community it creates, and I can’t wait to party with everyone.”
Monáe is already in good company — the annual festival, put on in conjuction with New York's annual Pride Festival, has been headlined in past years by stars like Madonna, Grace Jones, Kylie Minogue, Tove Lo, Patti Labelle, Tegan and Sara, and many more.
