The Titans used a big third inning and stellar complete-game effort from pitcher Tyler Jandron to knock off the Quebec Capitales 3-0 in the opening game of the Frontier League East final.
Titans manager Bobby Brown couldn’t have asked for anything more from Jandron, who was coming off a solid regular season that included a 7-4 record, 3.56 earned-run average and 113 strikeouts in 111 innings. “It’s just about keeping hitters off-balance,” he said. “It’s hard to hit when you’re off-balance all the time.”“It’s just like another game,” he said. “Every game is must-win. For all that, though, the Titans touched Cienfuegos up for three runs and three hits in the second inning. After right-fielder Jake Sanford singled, Kai Moody brought him home with a double.
