New images from EverythingEverywhereAllAtOnce show Michelle Yeoh & Jamie Lee Curtis in multiple universes, including one where they have hot dog fingers.
Michelle Yeoh and Jamie Lee Curtis are alternately adversaries and lovers in new images from Everything Everywhere All At Once that depict multiple universes from the sci-fi film. The project is the third feature film from directing duo Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert, who are known collectively as Daniels.
Everything Everywhere All At Once, which comes to theaters on March 25, 2022, promises to be no less engaging. Michelle Yeoh will star as Evelyn Wang, a laundromat owner who discovers that her existence spans multiple universes. The film will also star Ke Huy Quan, James Hong, Jamie Lee Curtis, Jenny Slate, Harry Shum Jr., Andy Le, Brian Le, Audrey Wasilewski, and Stephanie Hsu as Evelyn's daughter, a role that was originally filled by Yeoh's Crazy Rich Asians co-star Awkwafina.
The concept of the multiverse is one that has exploded in pop culture over the past year. This has come especially as major comic book film franchises attempt to push into the future while still harnessing nostalgia. The most prominent example is Spider-Man: No Way Home, which combined three generations of Spider-Man films, but the DCEU is taking that route in the upcoming The Flash, which will feature Ben Affleck's Batman alongside Michael Keaton's.
Everything Everywhere All At Once seems to be taking this trend and applying Daniels' inimitably weird worldview. Not only have they found a way to explore the same character through multiple iterations, but they have also unlocked the opportunity to run her through entirely different genres in a mashup that is sure to be a blend of goofy and thrilling.
