Jamie Lee Curtis had a hilariously perfect reaction to a fan-made vintage poster for Halloween2, which released 41 years ago. 'This made me feel f**king old.'😂
Jamie Lee Curtis has posted a hilarious reaction to a vintage Halloween II advertisement poster. Curtis first portrayed Laurie Strode in John Carpenter's 1978 classic horror film, Halloween. Strode is a teenage babysitter who is stalked by the deranged serial killer Michael Myers. Carpenter's movie was an immediate success, grossing over $70 million at the box office, making it one of the most profitable independent films of all time.
The success of Halloween would spawn a subsequent sequel in 1981, known as Halloween II. While Rick Rosenthal would take over directing duties for the sequel, Carpenter did pen the screenplay, which once again saw Curtis reprise her role as Strode. The plot of Halloween II picks up right after the events of the first movie, with Michael Myers following his victim, Strode, to the local hospital.
In reference to the poster's tagline, Halloween II establishes Michael's connection to the occult, which is discovered by Dr. Sam Loomis . Loomis finds ties connecting Michael to Samhain, which is a Gaelic festival marking the end of the harvest season. Owing to Michael's connection with the occult is meant to explain his apparent indestructibility, hence the poster's tagline above.
Given her long history with the franchise, fans have literally seen Curtis grow from teenager to Hollywood icon in her role as Strode. Reminiscing over Halloween II is sure to make viewers who have followed the entire series feel older too, but it is also a nod to the way in which the original Halloween films cemented themselves as horror classics.
