James Gunn recently revealed his top three favorite movies of all time. The director started his career in the industry as a screenwriter during the mid-'90s. He began directing in 2006, making his debut with the horror-comedy film Slither before moving onto the superhero genre. Gunn directed Super in 2010 before entering the highly popular Marvel Cinematic Universe, taking charge of the Guardians of the Galaxy trilogy.
Despite initially being an MCU man, Gunn also moved into the DCEU, releasing the very entertaining The Suicide Squad last year. Despite being a box office disappointment , the film received a lot of praise and is regarded as an improvement from the 2016 version. Gunn's latest project, Peacemaker released last month and ended its first season in mid-February.
Gunn revealing his favorite films of all time expresses how much of a film fanatic the director truly is, with the three films stretching from early Hollywood to the early 2000s. As well as that, his three choices are all different genres, showing he does not particularly stick to a specific type of movie and likes to explore different genres. All three choices are top films and are likely to have helped influence Gunn's memorable film style.
