There is a way these two universes can coexist.
Summary SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT The post-DCEU DC Universe on the film side of things is in a confusing state right now, but the DC TV show Peacemaker may have offered a solution to combine the multiple universes. The DCEU is about to be rebooted by James Gunn as the DCU when Superman: Legacy debuts in 2025, but DCEU movies continue to be released, leading to confusion over who's carrying over to the next universe and who's going to be recast.
Another actor and character audiences are wondering about is John Cena's Peacemaker. Peacemaker became a fan-favorite after Gunn's The Suicide Squad and Peacemaker on Max. While Peacemaker is definitely a beloved character for Gunn, the anti-hero is still directly tied to the DCEU, along with the other characters from the series. Gunn did hint that a Peacemaker season 2 is coming , but it's unclear what universe the series will take place in.
While it's unknown how his father got access to this technology, it's an astounding lair that could have crucial importance to the future of the DCU. The quantum lair supposedly exists outside of time, similar to the quantum universe within the MCU. There's no definition of how the laws of this technology work, but it possibly could be used to travel between universes.
Why The DCU Is More Likely To Not Explain The Castings It Keeps So far, the only character who Gunn has confirmed will carry over to his DCU is Xolo Maridueña's Blue Beetle. It's unclear if any others will follow, but Peacemaker season 2 could certainly lay more groundwork. With this convenient pocket dimension in the DCEU, Gunn might be able to avoid the confusion of having the same characters in different universes.
