Re: 'Trudeau is dead wrong about Canada's debt,' . Jake Fuss, director of fiscal studies at the Fraser Institute, is the one who is dead wrong. The analysis he presents deliberately excludes the very financial assets that would produce a fine IPO for a business borrowing money. It's like assessing an individual's wealth based on their bank balance, but excluding the value of their house.
Fuss deliberately excluded the kind of financial assets that lead to venture capitalists wanting to acquire the holders of those assets. One cannot totally dismiss considerations of the viewpoint that Fuss presents, but one cannot use it as an argument that the government is completely wrong in putting forward its comparison to the economies of other countries.
