Quarterback Trevor Lawrence enters the weekend listed as questionable as the Jaguars face a challenge on the road against the division-topping Titans.
Coming off of their worst performance of the season, the Jaguars hope to flush the loss and get back to performing at a higher level. Comeback victories against the Las Vegas Raiders and the Baltimore Ravens prove that they have the ability to overcome the mistakes they make, but it hasn't all come together.“It’s important. You’ve got to be able to win your division," Pederson said on Wednesday."You’ve got to be able to take care of business there. This is a good division.
He missed two days - Wednesday and Thursday - of practice, ultimately practicing on a limited basis on Friday. He was officially listed as questionable to play on Friday.During his final press conference of the week on Friday, Pederson seemed optimistic about the quarterback's status, indicating that
"We're talking about a toe, here," Pederson said with a laugh when asked if Lawrence will play based on how his toe feels heading into the game. Last week, Jacksonville squandered a golden opportunity to get back in the AFC South race. The team was 4-7 at the time, needing a victory and a Titans loss to get to just two games behind the current divisional leaders. With Tennessee losing to the Philadelphia Eagles, the opportunity was bound to set up a fantastic contest this week, and a chance to get just one game back of the lead., dropping to 4-8 on the season and now three games behind the now-7-5 Titans.
Recently, Herndon, the team's longest-tenured CB, was deemed inactive, a healthy scratch for the past two contests while coaches got an opportunity to see more of Brown, Claybrooks and Campbell. That hasn't necessarily worked out in their favor, however, surrendering plenty of yards on that area of the field.
