Brad Jacobs of Sault Ste. Marie continues his undefeated streak at the 2025 Montana's Brier in Kelowna, British Columbia, after four days of round-robin play. Jacobs' team, consisting of third Marc Kennedy, second Brett Gallant, and lead Ben Hebert, secured their third victory on Monday afternoon with a decisive 10-3 win over Tyler Smith of Prince Edward Island.
After establishing an early lead with a pair in the opening end and maintaining a 4-2 advantage through four ends, Jacobs firmly took control of the game. He added a single point in the fifth end and then stole two more in the sixth end and three in the seventh. Jacobs will return to the ice on Tuesday with two games scheduled. He will face Rylan Kleiter of Saskatchewan in the morning draw and then conclude the day against Owen Purcell of Nova Scotia in the evening draw.Meanwhile, Matt Dunstone's Manitoba-based team, which includes Sault Ste. Marie's E.J. Harnden and Ryan Harnden, suffered their first loss of the tournament on Monday. They fell 8-7 to John Epping's Northern Ontario rink in the morning draw. Despite Dunstone's team tying the game at 6-6 after seven ends, Epping scored a crucial two points in the final end to secure the victory. Dunstone will face Ty Dilello of Newfoundland and Labrador in Tuesday's afternoon draw. Epping's Northern Ontario team concluded the day with an 8-6 win over British Columbia's Cameron de Jong in the evening draw. With the score tied 5-5 after seven ends, Epping orchestrated a three-point rally in the eighth end to take the lead. He then sealed the victory with a single point in the tenth end. Epping's team will face Manitoba's Reid Carruthers in Tuesday's afternoon draw
