On Jack Dorsey’s to-do list, renaming Square to Block should have been behind integrating Afterpay, improving profitability and fending off rivals. He is more of a visionary, but when it comes to Square, he’ll have to get his hands dirty, says GinaChon.
Australia’s Afterpay, an installment-payments firm, delayed a shareholder vote planned for Dec. 6 on its $29 billion sale to U.S. financial technology company Block.
Afterpay said the ballot would likely take place in early 2022 after Block is expected to get approval for the deal from the Bank of Spain in mid-January.
