Starting next week, submitting Obituaries, In Memoriams or Cards of Thanks for our publications and online becomes easier! Simply visitwill be hosting what it's calling its first annual motorcycle rally in Conway, on the outskirts of the Town of Digby, to coincide with the Wharf Rat Rally, which is marking its 20th anniversary.
“We came back and went to town council. They turned us down. He had the Canadian Tire store and I had a Sears store at the time and we called it the Canadian Tire and Sears Motorcycle Run. We had 35 bikes and 75 people. We did it in my pub in downtown Digby," Robertson recalls. “This year, six of us started the Sou’West Iron and Ink Motorcycle Association. We’re all bikers... the group of people we have are connected somewhat in the bike world," says Robertson, saying they've teamed up with businesses and bike builders and will be staging a multitude of events in Conway – the area from the Canadian Tire store to the roundabout.
Proceeds from the motorcycle draw will go towards running Sou’West Iron and Ink Motorcycle Association rally events. “There’s a lot of energy around this year. We’re trying to do some new things so that’s kind of helping to attract people too,” he says.
