Nicolas Cage is really about to be your next favorite live-action Spider-Man

What a time to be Nicolas Cage , huh? He’s on a mission to play some, let’s call them “unforgettable” roles. The actor’s upcoming slate already includes horror films like Longlegs , in which he’s a serial killer, and The Carpenter’s Son about Jesus Christ ’s childhood. Then there’s The Surfer, premiering at Cannes Film Festival later this month. And that’s not all. Cage is now set to bring a version of Spider-Man to life in an MGM+ series that’s been in development for almost a year. .

Noir will follow Peter Parker, a down-on-his-luck private investigator forced to grapple with his past life as the city’s only superhero. His version of Peter is from a monochromatic universe, so we’ll see if the series is entirely in black and white as well. In the comics, Spider-Noir is different from the rest because he isn’t opposed to using brute force or compromising his morals. He’s a broodier, gritter version of the superhero we know and love.
