299 Queen Street West and the golden era of MuchMusic | SaltWireCORNER BROOK, N.L. — The NL West SPCA is into Week 5 of dealing with an animal hoarding situation in Corner Brook and it will be at least another six weeks before it can start the process to adopt out the 25 cats in its care.
A temporary shelter was set up in a city-owned building, but the SPCA had to look for another location when the city gave notice it needed the space back. NL West SPCA president says it’s not City of Corner Brook’s place to tell organization to euthanize cats She said a plea to the public resulted in numerous donations. People have generously given money that has been helping to pay the vet bills for the cats. They have also donated food, litter and cleaning supplies.
