An Israel i strike in Gaza has killed an elderly Palestinian man known from a touching video that went viral last year of him grieving his 3-year-old granddaughter, also slain in an airstrike.
At the time, the video spread on social media of him gently cradling Reem’s body, nuzzling her with his beard, opening her eyes to kiss them and tearfully telling her in Arabic, “Rouh al rouh,” which means “You are the soul of my soul.”, an independent media outlet. “She used to play by kissing my beard, and I would kiss her face. But when I came back, she had passed away. I started calling to her, ‘Get up, my dear, get up!’ I thought she was sleeping, but she had died.
Khaled Nabhan , who honored his 3-year-old grandchild, Reem, in what became a viral video after she was killed by an Israeli airstrike, was himself killed during an Israeli attack at the Nuseirat refugee camp in Gaza on Monday. Here, Nabhan's body is taken from the morgue of Al-Awda Hospital for funeral prayers and burial.Saed Nabhan said that their neighborhood was under tank shelling and that as he ran toward Al-Awda Hospital, he found his uncle among those killed.
