Washington Post columnist Jennifer Rubin used to identify as a conservative journalist. Then, after Donald Trump campaigned for president in 2016 and won, Rubin transitioned and stated she was no longer a conservative. As of 2021, she shifted her allegiance to the Biden administration and has been a steady advocate of the Democratic president.
Nowadays, Rubin comes across more like a jilted lover fueled by vitriolic hatred than a once-revered conservative journalist. This could explain why Rubin posted recently on X, formerly Twitter, that the horrific attack by Hamas on Israel was because of the chaos and drama surrounding the House speaker.“How about this: With US House in chaos and US military promotions on hold, Hamas struck,” Rubin posted. “Republicans’ weakness invites terror.

Kevin McCarthy was going to be the first House speaker in history voted out of office. And then, when hypothetically seeing this, it decided to attack Israel. It’s absurd to think and even more outlandish to state on a social media platform.Furthermore, Rubin’s post is an illogical statement.
Rubin has a long history of distinguished writing. However, something happened to her after Trump was elected president, almost as if it broke her. It’s her right to have not liked Trump and no longer want to be a Republican because of his election. However, when such disdain fuels a person to blame a terrorist attack by Hamas against Israel on House Republicans — or any members of Congress, for that matter — it is wrong, irresponsible, and a sign of being a little unhinged.
