Two Palestinian gunmen who were en route to carrying out an imminent shooting attack were detained by Israeli forces in the West Bank city of Nablus last night, defense authorities say. The Head of Central Command, Major General Avi Bluth, is allowing brigades to operate relatively freely in the West Bank with offensive operations. Security sources explained that a certain change had occurred following the IDF attacks in the Jordan Valley area. The IDF has attacked the area with special forces and the Air Force in operations that lasted for days.
Fatah, the governing party of the PA, condemned Hamas’s use of Gazan civilians “as human shields instead of protecting them and their homes.”
