And it is no war, but a massacre when an army slaughters 18,000 women and children. The author noticed that “confidence in the possibility of a two-state solution had waned considerably even before the war.
But as several former Israeli prime ministers warned years ago, the alternative to a two-state is a one-state solution. One destined either to apartheid, or the end of Jewish majority. Apartheid is unsustainable in the long run. Equal rights are inevitable. Contrary to Israeli claims, the latter would not be the “destruction” of Israel, but of Likud’s “greater Israel” vision. This conflict has gone on far too long.
