Gaza received its first deliveries of international humanitarian aid since the Oct. 7 attack on Israel, and a mother and daughter from Illinois were freed by Hamas.
President Biden spoke Sunday with the leaders of five other Western nations backing Israel, alongside a joint push for continued humanitarian support to the Gaza Strip and the release of hostages held by Hamas, the White House said.
The call with the leaders of Canada, Germany, France, the U.K. and Italy comes after the U.S. added to its military presence in the region. The White House said the leaders committed to efforts to expand humanitarian support and prevent the current conflict from spreading.
