Israel has announced that it will extend its military presence in south Lebanon, defying a ceasefire agreement deadline and preventing displaced residents from returning to their homes. Israel claims the Lebanese government has not fully adhered to the terms of the agreement, which stipulated the withdrawal of Israeli forces within 60 days of the ceasefire's implementation. The decision has sparked tensions and disapproval from Lebanese officials and Hezbollah, who view it as a violation of the agreed-upon terms.
